I’m the “this guy” in the yellow jacket who provides “some order” by means of “voluntary traffic control duty” in the video. The KING5 reporters were nice and wanted to do an interview with me, but I said no to them because no one ever looks good on the local news even if they’re just trying to keep sledders from getting hit by cars. Anyway, they just got nat sound and some sweet shots of me doing a high-five spin move and then smooching my girlfriend at the end.

Chicago Tribune photographer Scott Strazzante on Chicago’s tradition of dibs: Dibs occurs after a resident shovels snow out of a parking space and then places a household item in the spot in order to ensure their parking place is still there when they return. I have seen spaces reserved with ironing boards, lamps, tables, buckets and cones. Today, I decided to concentrate on the chairs that people put out by the curb.
